Our Story
STEMulating Potential sprang from the vision of Detroit native Dr. Nakisha Rutledge, known warmly as Dr. Kish by those she teaches. A proud alumna of Spelman College with a BS in Biochemistry, she further honed her expertise with a Master’s in Clinical Investigation and a Ph.D. in Vascular Immunology from Northwestern University. As a passionate advocate for her community and a specialist in STEM education, Dr. Kish recognized the glaring need for better support and resources for students of color on her own path to becoming a STEM professional. This inspired her to launch STEMulating Potential, a platform dedicated to transforming STEM education into an engaging and accessible experience. With over 15 years of tutoring under her belt and a wealth of experience in creating custom STEM curricula, Dr. Kish is not only a certified tutor but also an innovator. Her commitment to visual learning has led her to develop unique STEM kits that make learning both interactive and meaningful.
